About the Awards
The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is a global competition to find the best student entrepreneurs in the world. In 2011, over 1700 applicants from 20 countries applied. As the premier global competition for high school undergraduate and graduate students, GSEA serves as a catalyst to inspire students to start and grow new ventures. To qualify, students must: be currently enrolled in a recognized school, be the owner, founder or controlling shareholder of a for-profit company and be principally responsible for its operations. The business must have been operational for six months from the time of application.
The best overall entrepreneur will be selected and sent to compete in the Western US regional competition in San Francisco. The winner of that competition will be invited to the New York Stock Exchange trading floor to compete in the Global Finals in November during Global Entrepreneurship Week to compete for serious cash prizes and services.
